I've always wanted a Vin Diesel powered GPU.

It seems like you'd end up with a lot of comically unrealistic car chase scenes if that were the case.

Well the article does mention that they are working on the automotive sector

Camera DSP now includes night vision

"On that note, while it’s not outright HSA compliant, Furian adopts many of the hardware conventions of HSA, so it should behave like other heterogeneous solutions."

"I’ll have a deeper dive into Furian next week"

Would you mind elaborating more on HSA capabilities by then? This might be a significant limiting factor of the new design, compared to Bifrost and the latest Adrenos, outside Apple's ecosystem that is.

Imagination is part of the HSA Foundation. This suggests to me that f they are not "outright HSA complaint" the differences are legalistic rather than important. For example
    - they may not support HSAIL. (If they support SPIR for Vulkan & OpenCL and whatever Metal requires, why do they need HSAIL?)
    - maybe some technical details about how HSA is supposed to interoperate with PCIe and external DRAM, which Imagination don't care about because all their target sales are to devices with a single pool of RAM, not split GPU and "main" DRAM?

    They do not support HSAIL.

"I'll have a deeper dive into Furian next week"

Will that be posted where the A10 deep dive, the 1050/1050 Ti reviews and the 980/970 SLI deep dive was posted?

I'm not usually one to complain about AT taking their time, but yeah, what's going on with Octobers A10 piece? If it's not happening can we just be told? Or if it is, what's the new ETA?

Joshua has been severely lagging behind on mobile for a while now. Last year's GS7 review took quite a while.

They did their yearly writer recruitment, but I can't see any new writers whatsoever that'll help alleviate this situation.

anyone with this sort of in-depth knowledge probably has it because of an education that allows him to get a better paying job than journalist so they're stuck with people who don't have time.
  • Mavendependency - Wednesday, March 8, 2017 - link

Haven't they already told us that there will be no A10 deep dive, since the writer left?
  • tipoo - Wednesday, March 8, 2017 - link

Oh, did they say so? May have missed it. Where was that?
  • 0iron - Wednesday, March 8, 2017 - link

IINM A10 still on the cards but handover to the wrong person. I don't know why Ryan not doing it himself since his writing is far better than Josh.

Too bad, Andrei has left. He could do the deep dive & his piece could be better than Ryan's.

I doubt there's any point in reviewing the 1050, RX460, and RX470 now since there are other sites that have posted reviews already. Yes, we're missing some ability to compare with prior GPU reviews conducted by Ananadtech, but you can get a pretty good sense of performance numbers by collecting data from the multitude of other outside sources.
  • MrSpadge - Thursday, March 9, 2017 - link

Or ask someone who does jsut that: collect the different reviews, sort out bad data and calculate a performance index:

    Available in devices in 2024!
  • MrSpadge - Thursday, March 9, 2017 - link

Yes, in 2024 there will very probably still be Furian devices around.
